ESCMID EDUCATIONAL COURSES
Each year, ESCMID supports several 2–3 day Postgraduate Education Courses and Hands-on Technical Workshops in both Europe and overseas. These events address specific areas, current issues, or emerging hot topics in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
This call accepts proposals for EDUCATIONAL COURSES which will take place in 2026:
- Online Education Courses
- Onsite Education Courses / Hands-on Technical Workshops
To submit your proposal, please fill in the Proposal Form and attach the mandatory documents listed below to your application:
- Template 2026_Preliminary Programme and Faculty list
- Template 2026_Budget ESCMID Onsite course (for on-site courses)
These two templates can be found on this google drive, in the folder “Templates to attach to proposal”.
Please note that:
- To guide yourself through the proposal form, you are welcome to check the “Proposal guidance” document.
- Please carefully check the ESCMID 2026 Courses SOP (on google drive). It contains all important information about the Education Courses proposal and execution.
- There is a course budget plan required for onsite courses and workshops.
- Please consider as a new opportunity to organize online courses – they are easier to plan, carry less economic risk, and as such can be targeted to specialized topics that may not support an onsite course.
- You can find references to our previous Courses on our website.
- Although the faculty members (speakers) should be the most relevant presenters for each topic, a fair balance, both by geography and gender, should be strived for. Please try to plan with at least two talks per speaker.
- For onsite courses, the venue of the workshop should be chosen with the participants in mind – venues with affordable accommodation options nearby and easy to reach are usually more attractive. Also, consider how the ‘high season’ may affect the availability and cost of accommodation.
- If you have not already, we encourage you to organise your course with the participation of an ESCMID Study Group.
- Please get familiar with the review criteria (on google drive), which will be used by the Education Subcommittee to prepare a ranking list of accepted course proposals.
We look forward to your innovative and impactful proposals that will help advance education and training in our field.
