SUMMARY:Swiss Young Microbiologists Symposium (SYMS)
DESCRIPTION:The 6th Swiss Young Microbiologists Symposium to be held in per
 son on the 12th of June 2026\, at the University Hospital Zurich\, is a co
 llaboration between the Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene\, University
  of Zurich\, the American Society for Microbiology (ASM)\, Swiss Society f
 or Food Hygiene (SGLH)\, and the University Hospital Zurich.\n\nThis uniq
 ue event targets undergraduate\, graduate\, post-graduate\, and postdoc re
 searchers from Switzerland in all fields of microbiology. The symposium ai
 ms to enhance data exchange and improve early-career scientists presentat
 ion skills by affording them a platform to share their project ideas and 
 latest results. Participants will get input and feedback from peers improv
 ing their presentation skills and getting new insights to enhance their re
 search. We hope that this event will further encourage and foster networki
 ng\, collaboration\, data exchange\, and resource sharing. For continued e
 ducation\, keynote lectures focusing on the latest scientific developments
  and career advancement will be given.\n\nAwards: six presenter prizes for
  the oral and poster sessions will be awarded to the best presenters as de
 fined by a jury (1st place: 300 CHF each\, plus certificate and annual ASM
  membership). At the end\, there will be an open-ended mixer to further ne
 twork.\n\nBe part of this unique symposium uniting young microbiologists t
 hroughout Switzerland.\n\nParticipation is FREE! Tea break snacks and lunc
 h will be provided! You can register with or without an abstract.\n\nAbstr
 act submission deadline is the 8th of May 2026. Attendance registration d
 eadline is the 11th of June 2026. The authors of selected abstracts will b
